But, it shouldn't be long now...we are in week 11. Apparently, baby is the size of a lime at this point, and he/she is certainly trying to make room in there! I'm peeing pretty much all the time. Though, we got some relief last night..I was only up once before 5:45, so I very nearly got a full night's sleep! However, apparently 6am is still just too darn early to be fully rested. I was up and fully awake when Michael left for work, had some breakfast, and then crashed. Took an hour long nap, quite by accident, and felt much more energetic the second time I woke up.
Other than that, I am feeling quite a bit of relief from the nausea. My sniffer isn't picking up quite so much (though my sense of smell is still quite strong), so that's helping. Not that this is the most beautiful topic of pregnancy, but I've also gotten more "regular". I can't tell you what a relief that is!! I've been on/off constipated since I was a mere 2 weeks along! I may even be a little too regular some days. Oh well, at least that's not a miserable state to be in, unlike the constipation.
Getting set to get into some yoga, and can't wait for the weather to be nicer for walking. I've decided I'm going to order this prenatal yoga package I found online yesterday, as opposed to going to a class. It's just much more affordable, and how much personal attention do you really get in a class anyway? On the walking front, I found it so very liberating to be able to walk outside twice last week, while the weather was nice enough for it. 30-40 degrees is all I need (and a little sunshine to dry up the icy patches, of course). I love finding the right music to walk to, and it turns out Bonobo is quite good (no, not the endangered ape; the musician- check 'em out)!

Namasté.
Are you taking prenatal vitamins? I had such problems with constipation during my second pregnancy because of the extra iron so my doc suggested flintstone vitamins (really no kidding). I personally like the grape ;o) Glad to hear that the morning sickness has calmed down. That's about the right time for it to subside too as you ease into your second trimester. Can't wait to see the ultrasound! Looking forward to seeing you guys in just over two weeks. I have some books for you ;o)
ReplyDelete...During your second pregnancy..? Am I missing something? Or, did you mean during your second trimester? Anyway, yes I am taking a prenatal. I worry more about not getting enough iron, actually. And the constipation has gotten better, like I mentioned. I'm very excited about coming into the second trimester, for so many reasons!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to you guys coming to visit too!
Couple of quick thoughts.
ReplyDeleteFirst, tummy is on the way...no stopping it! I didn't show until about 4-5 months, sooner with babies 2-4. It'll will happen, sooner than you expect.
Second, testing. Ughhh! With only one of my babes did I test and not fail. With all I had to do the long glucose test for diabetes (sucked). My feeling is that the 3D ultra sound exam was the most beneficial. We had a FANTASTIC Dr. through Fairview Ridges I think. He commented that ONLY in pregnancy do Doctors seem willing to do dangerous, invasive tests (amnio) which he reserves for only the most needed situations. He was able to show us (and seeing was so comforting) that we had none of the markers for the major disorders. No harm to baby and we were in control of the situation. We did the same again for Victoria with similar results. A much better experience than the scary amnio with Elizabeth.
third (and final comment) I did yoga and mediation for labor and delivery...loved it! I still have the relaxation audio tape (maybe I can find a way to digitize it for you). It was super helpful in a number of ways. Remind me when we are together and I tell you all about it. I actually hired a woman to come into my home and teach. I had a couple of friends join (made it very affordable), private and personal. I still use the techiniques to calm or relax in times of stress.
It is so exciting to reach all the mile stones with pregnancy especially when you start to feel the baby move. That is the most awesome feeling ever. I didn't show with Tyler until I was around 6 months but it seemed like I was showing right away with the following pregnancies.
